t…rust - finding inspiration beneath the surface, amongst the rust and remnants
Solo Exhibition
Inspired by life and it's unfolding journeys, the artwork of Sheri Piccone talks about letting go of the past and surrendering to the now, of memories that fade, tatter and rust and of how, when one doorway closes, another opens. Insights drawn from books, music and life are tools of salvation. Scattered through the works these fragments represent keys to transformation, treasures of the heart and freedom from the mind. The works are inspired by love and trust.... lost, found and that which just is.

The artworks combine found objects, altered books, symbols, materials, images and text juxtaposed to create a series of memorable collages and assemblages in the exhibition titled “t...rust”.
With impetus drawn from the Art Postcards that she entered into last year's "Wish You Were Here" exhibition at Waywood Gallery, Sheri has created a whole body of work for her first solo exhibition. Allowing the found objects and other fragments to relate their stories through her, whilst simultaneously building new narratives for the viewer.
Opening Night: Thursday 25th of February at 6pm
exhibition : 26/02/10 to 20/03/10
The Waywood Gallery, which is part of the centre, is over 10 years old and, during that time, has exhibited hundreds of emerging and established artists, both local and not. We continue doing so and our new space also offers a “Printing Gallery” for those artists who have given us their work to giclee print and then wish to sell them. Some exhibitions also feature fine reproductions of house-made prints on specific themes. A permanent collection of prints is available at all times, making the centre a worthwhile destination when you’re hunting for that very unique and original present!
Last year we had around 12 exhibitions
and our openings were always lively and pleasant evenings, with live music, food and drinks. The format for our exhibitions will change a little in the next few months. We are planning one major exhibition a term, lasting three weeks, followed by more informal displays of local art centered around themes. If you would like to be kept posted of our openings please subscribe here and if you are an artist wishing to participate in the theme exhibitions, please go to “future exhibitions” and “how to exhibit” for more details.
